Version: 3.5.6 (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux the calendar and also the addressbook seems to be loaded several times when opening kontact. This takes really long when there are ~50k files to be loaded for the calendar and about 6k files for the addressbook. I am not sure how I can verify this to be a bug, let me know what further information you need and I will gladly provide them.
moving to korganizer. please make sure you only have 1 such resource configured. look in control center KDE Components->KDE Resources
There are two entries in there. One called imap Resource, and another one called Resource. only the imap resource is checked so Iassume that there is only one resource.
Is that 3.5.6 or latest 3.5.6-rX, Christof?
I am not sure. I use gentoo and therefore portage. portage however tells me that this version 3.5.6 is installed. Usually the gentoo team attaches a -rX if there is some change so I think its plain 3.5.6 [I] kde-base/kontact Available versions: (3.5) 3.5.5 (~)3.5.6 Installed versions: 3.5.6(3.5)(23:12:05 22.03.2007)(-arts -debug -elibc_FreeBSD kdeenablefinal xinerama)
Well, I did grab some stuff from the 3.5 branch in the latest ebuilds and vaguely remembered something that I thought may relate (bug 143511, which was about saving, not loading), so ignore my intersection, please.
KResources are no longer used. Try 4.6.
