Description Cyron 2006-09-25 02:29:17 UTC
Version: 0.12.1 (using KDE 3.5.4, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.4-0ubuntu2~dapper1 )
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-27-686

If I get an incoming file transfer request, the file transfer starts but it's stop after getting a few KB. On the other hand I can send files with more then 1 MB without any problems over the file transfer function to other MSN contacts. If the file transfer aborts, the contact who send me the file getting - on Windows XP with the last version of the native client - the message that "the file transfer cannot be established" (a translation from the German error message).
I reproduced this bug over 20 times and in the time window of one and a half month.

Well, I get the error too — and from what I remember, it’s become much more common than it was, say, in August and before; then again, that might be just an illusion.

Might Windows Live Messenger be the problem?

I have the same problem, nearly every incoming file stops after a while, sometimes it even reaches 90% or more, it doesn't get only few kB, but sometimes even 1 or 2 MB. Kopete gives no error, the transfer window remains opened, but the transfer is interrupted on the messenger side. My contacts use ms live messenger.
Comment 3 Cyron 2006-10-07 20:36:22 UTC
Yes, my contact is also using the Windows Live Messenger, but she have no Problems with other Clients and e.g. Miranda can also handle the transfer.

I have the same problem, every file I get stops in the middle. The contacts sending the files are using MS Live Messenger.

Closing to aggreate file transfers problem to bug #123624 "Implement MSN P2P Direct transfer"

What does this have to do with P2P transfers?
It would be great to have P2P transfers too, but an indirect transfer should also work.
