Version: 0.9 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages It would be nice to have a preview pane (resizable to arbitrary size) in the main digikam window. See http://gziegler.fw.hu/DigikamWishlist/Clipboard01.jpg for an example layout.

In digiKam 0.9.0, press F3 key and you will see a preview of picture witch remplace the albumview. Use the mouse wheel and you change the current image from album. Press ESC and you will return to album view. Right sidebar still usable to show property/metadata/color info and change Comments & tags. http://www.digikam.org/?q=node/176 I think than to broke again the album view with a new layout is not really usable. We have already sidebar on the left and on the right. It's enough. Gilles Caulier
Hmm, I am not convinced ;-). I understand your point, but on the other hand, having both the sequence of thumbs together with a larger view is very useful. In addition to ACDsee8 one can find this type of view for example for http://mapivi.sourceforge.net/screenshots.shtml http://www.bibblelabs.com/ http://gqview.sourceforge.net/view-shot.html http://www.lightcrafts.com/products/lightzone/ adobe bridge This is also related to some extent to the light-table like view, as discussed in http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135048
Arnd, Yes, i'm agree with light-table stuff. I'm study this part in my mind. We will continue this thread in B.K.O #135048 Gilles
I have tried the preview mode at the evening. Indeed better than nothing, but annoying that thumbnails are totally hidden... Why??? An inferior, but usable solution could be to provide the same thumbnails view-pane in the digikam editor window, like in the standalone version of the editor (ShowFoto)... Due to the existing thumbnail pane in showfoto, I guess that it would not be a big wor to enable it in the itnegrated editor? Thanks in advance
Also see bug 166616, which requests thumbnails in the View mode.
