Description Kurt Pfeifle 2006-07-07 18:23:00 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
Installed from: Unspecified
Compiler: not relevant not relevant

KDEPrint in 3.5.3 still does not support some features introduced in CUPS 1.1.x revisions already some years ago. KDEPrint should support these at least in the first KDE4 release, and if possible backport the most important ones to future KDE 3.5.x or 3.6.x releases.

Details
-------
There are 15 currently unsupported cupsd.conf 1.1.x parameters in KDEPrint:

  - ConfigFilePerm
  - FaxRetryInterval
  - FaxRetryLimit
  - FileDevice
  - FilterNice
  - Include
  - LimitRequestBody
  - LogFilePerm
  - MaxClientsPerHost
  - MaxCopies
  - PrintcapGUI
  - ReloadTimeout
  - RootCertDuration
  - RunAsUser
  - ServerTokens

Users should be able to configure those along the currently supported ones when running "kaddprinterwizard --serverconfig".

For an explanation of these cupsd.conf parameters, see

   http://www.cups.org/doc-1.1/sam.html#7_4

I'll submit a separate bug report for features newly introduced in CUPS 1.2.0 which are also unsupported by current KDEPrint.

KDEPrint is obsolete, unmaintained and will never be revived. Closing all open bugs.
