Version: 1.2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux When Kontact opens and shows the summary, if I double click very quickly on a "To Do" task (I don't know if it's important but it's the #2 task in 2 tasks) the program crashes, reporting a signal 11 (SIGSEGV). But if I click only one time on the same task, on the same situation, it doesn't crash. After that, everytime I do the same on the same task or in the other task, no crash happens. It's only on start. Note that that double-click is the first action I make. I don't click or press or do anything before that. Another thing. It only happens when the computer is still "thinking". If I open the program and wait until his loading is complete, the error doesn't occur. That let's me think that the error is not actually a problem with the program itself but with the loading. Having a slow computer (P3 1Ghz), how can a program run at 100% without any bug if it's not fully loaded? Stay with that in mind because this could be not really a bug, it can be sillyness of the user... P.S.: I couldn't create a backtrace. Sorry...
But I can, not that it's much use. Kontact from KDE 3.5.5, SUSE packages. #5 0x0000000000000004 in ?? Happens with any pair of fast-ish clicks on the todo summaries - I expect because Kontact tries to open the part twice.
Confirmed similar behaviour: Upon click on "summary", Kontact crashes immediately. See backtrace attached. Distribution is Suse 10.0, i386

Bug 146758 mentions this only happens when downloading mails at the same time.
Still exists in KDE 3.5.7 on Kubuntu 7.10 beta

Note that my Kontact crashes also when single-clicking on the appointment. This is contrary to the original poster's comments.
> Note that my Kontact crashes also when single-clicking on the > appointment. This is contrary to the original poster's comments. Yes, but it is the same backtrace, and therefore very likely the same cause of the problems.
Created attachment 23987 [details] Backtrace This is backtrase of Kontact crash clicking on event in Summary view. Kubuntu 7.10
Can you try with kde 4.1.X ?
Seems OK in KDE 4.1.3 opens task and task view in kontact, no craches even after 3 times clicking :) In my opinion you can close this one....
Thank you for your feedback. Closing this bug now.
