Description Harm van Bakel 2006-06-10 19:15:36 UTC
Version: 0.12-svn (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
Compiler: gcc 4.0.3
OS: Linux

When receiving a msn file transfer from Gaim 2.0 beta 3 the file transfer is started correctly and completes to 100%. At this point the transfer is stopped and the dialog is never closed. The only option is clicking 'cancel', which results in file that cannot be opened (though the transferred file size seems to be just about correct). Sending files to a gaim client works without problems.

I have the same problem. And I'm pretty sure that the bug was present also receiving files from Gaim 1.x

I am using Gentoo, and I have the same problem:

"Kopete 0.12.3 (Using KDE 3.5.5)"
"kde-base/kopete-3.5.5-r2 (3.5)"

This bug is irritating as hell. And no amount of firewall configuration seems to help.

This problem exists in both HTTP and 'normal' mode.

The file transfer bugs are now all aggregated to bug #123624 "Implement MSN P2P file tranfer"

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 123624 ***

I have a feeling that P2P transfer support won’t fix the issue with Pidgin.
