Version: 0.11.1 (using KDE 3.5.1, Debian Package 4:3.5.1-3 (testing/unstable)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15.6 I installed X.Org and KDE 3.5, upgrading from x11/3.3, and my entire AIM list shows as offline.
I need more info to do anything about this bug. Can you provide debug output? Do you receive messages from these contacts while they're supposedly offline? If you remove and readd one of the ones you know is online, does it show up as online after you readd it?
I was able to resolve the issue. For some reason unknown, all users were placed in a subfolder, that doesn't exist. This had an off effect of them being in my buddy list.. but not added to my buddy list. O.o I used Trillian Pro on a windows PC to make a subfolder, moved them there. After that, it worked fine in both operating systems. I was able to resolve the issue. For some reason unknown, all users were placed in a subfolder, that doesn't exist. so they were in a subfolder and working with Kopete from KDE 3.3 and after the upgrade to KDE 3.5, your entire list was offline? or did you move them to a subfolder after the upgrade?
When i upgraded, i logged in once, and they were visible, in the subfolder as they should have been. I later logged out and restarted the server, when i tried to use it again the next day, they were all in this state. I have the same problem on three different machines... my entire AIM contact list shows as offline and I do not appear to be online to any of my AIM contacts despite my AIM status showing as online with one slight twist. I log into AIM with my ICQ ID but the same thing occurs if I login to ICQ with my ICQ ID. Two machines are behind a firewall with NAT and the other is behind a different filewill without NAT. All machines are running Gentoo Linux. All machines have kopete-3.5.5-r2 and kdelibs-3.5.5-r10 installed and running a 2.6 kernel.
OK, make it 4 machines with the same problem. The forth machine is running Gentoo Linux x86_64 with the kopete-3.5.5-r2 and kdelibs-3.5.5-r10. Kopete's About dialog lists, "Kopete 0.12.3 (Using KDE 3.5.5). If I login to ICQ2Go, I can see my contacts online and they can see me online.
Bug #133865 appears to be a dupe of this one.

Steven, is this bug still there with a recent KDE 4 version of kopete?
I haven't installed KDE4 yet as it is still hard-masked on Gentoo. Below is the message from the Gentoo portage system: # Ingmar Vanhassel <ingmar@gentoo.org> (16 Jan 2008) # Mask KDE 4.0.x for testing. This release of KDE 4 will not be unmasked. # This is still not intended for mainstream so DO NOT KEYWORD IT without # talking to the KDE herd first. # KDE 4 guide: http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/kde/kde4.xml -----
I cannot reproduce, if you still see this bug in Kopete from KDE 4.1 or greater please reopen.
