Description Erik Hensema 2006-02-23 13:22:00 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Imagine a long list of mail folders. Some of the folders are marked with "notification of new or unread messages in this folder" (note: i'm translating from dutch back to english).

Now the system tray icon will display some number of unread messages which is lower than the total number of unread messages. However, one can assume the user thinks the number in the systray is more important than the total number of messages.
Typically the user would want to read all important messages, getting the number down to 0.

However, kmail doesn't aid the user in doing this. There is no way to quickly identify the important folders.

So, my wish is that kmail aids the user in finding the folders he marked as being important (by telling kmail it should notify the user of new messages in the folder).

Maybe an extra column could help. Or folder names in different colors.

However, please also read my next wish.

IMHO the folder names in kmail should be in bold italic if a folder contains messages marked as important. An extra column with the number of important messages (optionally) would also be ok but I'd prefer the bold italic view because it is easier to see at one glance and does not take up so much space.
