Version: Kontact Version 1.2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux I would be nice to make kontact/korganizer journal more similar to web blogs. in particular: 1. entry new record should automatically set current time this is also covers bug/wish http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113663 2. default short view of entry (let's say 2-3 lines), if one want to see full record push a button 3. tags (or categories in kontact terminology) for entries. it is done for to-do's and events, why not for journal? the search will be much easier. category list should be editable and different from to-do's and events'. maybe even subcategories are usefull 4. quick search toolbar as in kmail with categories selection
one more feature would be useful: clickable weblinks and paths to local files when viewing record and one more addition: for editing record one should also click for a button, so viewing mode sould be totally separate from editing mode
Clickable links and images could be implemented the same way the mail viewer is (is that KHTML?). A simple WYSIWYG editor (like maybe that one used for composing mails in Kmail) would be nice.
Please see http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=53529 for a mockup I created in Designer of the Journal plugin to make it more suitable both as a journal and as blog editor. (Suggestions are welcome.)
I'm working on this for KDE 4.x.
