Description Richard Neill 2005-11-24 05:04:52 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs
OS: Linux

KPPP doesn't disable existing DNS servers in /etc/resolv.conf

I have this configuration:

 Accounts->DNS->
   Domain name [blank]
   Configuration: manual
Disable existing DNS server during connection [checked].

When kppp starts up, the existing enties are not commented out. I also get 2 pairs of identical entries. Thus:

ACTUAL /etc/resolv.conf:
----------------------
search www.baddiant.org.uk
nameserver 192.168.0.1
nameserver 153.43.240.3 #kppp temp entry
nameserver 153.43.240.3 #kppp temp entry
nameserver 153.43.240.3 # ppp temp entry
nameserver 153.43.240.3 # ppp temp entry
------------------------

EXPECTED /etc/resolv.conf:
----------------------
#search www.baddiant.org.uk
#nameserver 192.168.0.1
nameserver 153.43.240.3 #kppp temp entry
nameserver 153.43.240.3 #kppp temp entry
------------------------

Essentially, this is a dup of the ancient bug 15315, but since I can't re-open bugs on KDE's bugzilla, I'm reporting a new one. I am using kpp 2.3.2, KDE 3.4.2, Mandrake 2006.

It isn't assigning the default route to this gateway either!
