Description Earl Ruby 2005-11-08 21:23:02 UTC
Version: 1.8 (using KDE 3.4.0 Level "b" , SUSE 9.3)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.4-21.9-smp

If I go to Settings -> Configure KMail -> Appearance -> Fonts and check the "Use custom fonts" check box, the "Apply To" settings ("Message List", "Message List - New Messages", "Message List - Unread Messages", etc.) default to whatever they were the last time "Use custom fonts" was set up -- they bear no resemblance to the fonts that are currently in use.

It would be nice to be able to click "Load Profile", select "Purist" (loading the fonts from the KDE global settings), then have an option to update the current custom settings to match that profile, and then **tweak** those settings for KMail by checking the "Use custom fonts" check box.

Right now, if I want to use KDE settings, but then render JUST the folder list using a smaller font, I have to check "Use custom fonts" and then set ALL of the various settings to match my current KDE settings and then modify the Folder List setting. There is no way to sync the current KMail custom font / custom color settings with one of the profile settings and then modify just one or two of the settings that you want to change for KMail. It would be nice if there was a built-in way to do this.

Maybe I paste my report:
"
Custom colors should only apply to system-wide colors, because THERE user decides if she/he want the system color or the custom one. KMail specific color is always "custom".

Currently keeping system colors "compatibility" and on the other hand defining KMail color is a hard task, please simplify it by changing this checkbox to "use KDE system colors". This checkbox would have impact only on system colors, KMail colors should always be editable.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
