Description pierre 2005-09-26 21:09:19 UTC
Version:           2.6 (using KDE 3.4.91 (beta1, >= 20050910), Kubuntu Package 4:3.4.91-0ubuntu1 )
Compiler:          Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.12-9-k7

Hi

I downloaded a zip file using konqueror : it opened ark. I then wanted to save that zip file (not extract) to my usbdisk, and it failed.
When I went in the folder media:/sda1 and clicked on Save, it said me "you don't have the rights to write to /sda1"

Quite problematic, isn't it ?

Similar problem to juk bug 111614 and kile bug 108054. Also probably the root of ark bug 108468.

Comment 3 Yuriy Kozlov 2007-02-06 04:35:10 UTC
As also reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kdeutils/+bug/42666

Right clicking on a file in a kio slave in konqueror and going to compress as > filename.tar.gz brings up a progress dialog that never ends, and the file never gets created.
This works fine when not using a kio slave.
If using the kio slave and the file already exists, ark crashes.

Attaching a backtrace of the crash when saving an archive to a kio slave when
the file exists.

Closing it as UNMAINTAINED - the media:/ ioslave doesn't exist in KDE4 anymore.
