Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) Installed from: Slackware Packages Compiler: gcc 3.3.4 OS: Linux I have file previews turned on in konqueror, but I turn previews off for slow removable media (e.g. floppy disks or flash memory cards) by creating corresponding .desktop files on these media (either manually with a text editor, or using konqueror). The problem is when I browse some directory with konqueror and then enter such a directory where previews are turned off, they stay turned off even after I leave that directory and go elsewhere. In my opinion, turning previews off for a particular folder should mean "don't show previews while browsing this folder or any of its subfolders" and not "don't show any previews after entering this folder even if you browse to another location".
I have a similar problem. E.g. I would like to set the icon size for some folders with images larger, but konqueror doesn't seem to support settings (via .desktop files) for subfolders.
This appears to me to be an issue with the way the save view settings per folder and the .directory files are handeled. I was going to file a bug report but noticed this one already exists. For example: Set a folder to view by deatils and that is saved in the .directory file. Enter a folder where the .directory file says icon view and larger icon sizes and then go to the previous folder and it will switch back to detailed view but will still be at the large icon size. This is because the only setting in the .directory file was the detail view one. Since there was no icon size setting saved it doesn't change the icon size. I have worked around by manually editing the .directory files to save add as many settings as I could find to make sure they all get set when entering a folder.
I think this is a dupe of 57685. Please correct me if I'm wrong :-) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 57683 ***
Confirm. Seems to be the same thing.
