Description Jens 2005-03-07 23:41:11 UTC
Version:           v0.9.6 (using KDE 3.4.0 Level "a" , SUSE 9.2 UNSUPPORTED)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.4 (pre 3.3.5 20040809)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-24.11-default

Hi,

when I open Firefox 1.0 (default URL: www.novell.com/linux) and delete this URL from the location bar and start typing a new one *while Firefox is still loading*, klipper will pop up with "www.novell.com/linux" in the clipboard, but re-popup before I can click anything.

This is 100% reproducable.

The only way to get klipper sane again is to disable the popup actions, which in itself is hard because klipper keeps popping up at a rate of about one new menu per second (replacing the window before, thankfully).

Thanks,

Jens

I can confirm that. But since it only happens in Mozilla and Firefox, but not any other application I have, I'm guessing the bug is in their code.

The popup should not show at all with Firefox - I've just added more WM_CLASS values to the check for which windows to avoid, so the bug shouldn't happen anymore unless the values are manually removed from the configuration.
Still leaving this one open, it can be a Klipper bug, and at least it shouldn't show the popup again while it's already shown.

Yes ...

ist here a way to reset Klipper's config to defaults, so I can check if my
configuration upgraded from 2.2 -> 3.0beta -> 3.0 -> 3.1 -> 3.1.2 -> 3.2
-> 3.3 -> 3.3.2 -> 3.4rc was somehow messed up ? ;-)

Would removing klipperrc in .kde/share/config do it?

Yes, though your clipboard history remain unaffected.

Is this perhaps related to Bug 94330?

I have the same - (from debian experimental packages for kde 3.4).

Having read this set of comments, I tried deleting klipperrc. It seems to have resolved the problem for now.

Bug 102061 is the same, I think.
