Version: 3.3.2 (using KDE 3.3.2, (3.1)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.7-ck6 For example: -Go to "Preferences" - "Configure Konqueror..." - "File Asociations" -Click in "audio" / "x-mp3". -There appear the asocciated programs to open mp3 files. -Choose one, for example XMMS, select it. -Press "Edit..." and go to "Application" tab. -There appear all the MIME types asociated with XMMS. -Try to add more or delete existing MIME asociations (for example delete all the MIME types asociated to XMMS). -Press "OK". -Look into the "audio" MIME types and XMMS still is a asociated program. Nothing has changed. -The same occurs adding MIME types. Because this bug, if I want to delete a program from the list I have to delete manually the program in all the MIME types that it appears.
Now I use KDE 3.4 and I see a difference: -The problem is only with XMMS (and more programs, but not for example with Kghostview). -I try to do the same as above. -After delete some existing MIME asociations and press OK, there appears a error box: "Impossible to save the propereties. You don't have permision to write in /usr/share/applications/XMMS.desktop. I understand the problem of the premisions, so, do I have to open Konqueror as root to delete these MIME asociations for all the users?
KDE4: the mimetypes are not in the properties dialog for a .desktop file anymore, on purpose, so this bug cannot happen anymore. However I can see that this is another vote for "removing all associations for one application", like 61582. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 61582 ***
