Description groot 2005-02-17 22:02:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: FreeBSD

When you select a bunch of messages (say, 300 of them) in an IMAP folder and hit "apply filters", this creates lots (more than the six that will be shown) of progress items -- one for each message that needs to be filtered. This makes the progress indication pretty much useless, since _filtering_ each message goes from 0 to 100% pretty much instantaneously, but you can't see how many messages have been processed or how far the entire filter operation has gone.

There should be _one_ progress item for "filtering messages" that counts up to 100% as the messages are processed.

Is that Kontact-specific?
Comment 2 A T Somers 2006-10-29 11:01:50 UTC
Could you please check (with a recent version, preferably 3.5.5) whether:
1) This is still an issue, and
2) This happens only when using KMail in Kontact, or also in a standalone version of KMail?
Comment 3 James 2006-11-02 22:00:16 UTC
It does it with Kontact 1.2.3, using KMail 1.9.4 if you make it show detailed progress meters.

There are hundreds of progress meters showing useless information such as "retrieving message xxxxx" "filtering message xxx" for each item.
Comment 4 James 2006-11-02 22:03:54 UTC
Also does it when KMail is run standalone. The progress meter doesn't appear immediately, but takes about 20-30 seconds to begin.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.
Comment 6 Luigi Toscano 2012-08-19 00:43:52 UTC
Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
