Version:           1.7.2 (using KDE 3.3.2, compiled sources)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.4.2 [FreeBSD] 20040728
OS:                FreeBSD (i386) release 5.3-STABLE

Frustrated with the time it takes for KMail (or newimap4) to deal with one IMAP-server I sometimes ask for another KMail window (File->New Window) to read mail in another account.

This immediately creates a second, identical new-messages counter on the toolbar and, whenever a new message's arrival is detected, two little windows start popping up.

Still the case with 4.3.1; The systray icon is created per main window, but should be done only once per kmail instance

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
