Description Ramon van Alteren 2005-02-13 15:44:51 UTC
Version: kmail 1.7.91 (using KDE KDE 3.3.91)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 3.3.4 CFLAGS="-O3 -march=pentium3 -fprefetch-loop-arrays -funroll-loops -pipe"
OS: Linux

I experienced two related incidents of mail-loss with kmail/kontact and disconnected imap.

Both occured when network connection was lost during mail synchronisation.

Kontact/kmail prints an error message that the imap-server can not be reached and asks to continue or abort.
I clicked continue to find some mailfolders missing mail, mail has also been deleted from the imap mailserver.

It appears that mail was not completely downloaded from the mailserver (courier-imap) and after I hit the continue button the folder was synchronised with the server causing any undownloaded mail to be deleted.
