Description Karakontakis Apostolis 2005-02-08 09:54:01 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
OS: Linux

I try to connect with konqueror via smb command from a linux box to a server (RISC Technology) that is running AIX Version 4.3 and LAN MANAGER on a local network. There are a lot of printers (Lexmark Lazer OptraS 1855 and Matrix Compuprint 2048) and also directories that are beiing shared through LAN MANAGER on the AIX server.I have no problem connecting to any of these from windows XP.The name of the AIX server is S9993201.When i give smb://s9993201 to konqueror i get the following error

-> libsmbclient reported an error, but did not specify what the problem is. This might indicate a severe problem with your network - but also might indicate a problem with libsmbclient.
If you want to help us, please provide a tcpdump of the network interface while you try to browse (be aware that it might contain private data, so do not post it if you are unsure about that - you can send it privately to the developers if they ask for it) <-

KDE 3 is no longer maintained. Feel free to reopen the ticket if the problem is still applicable in the current stable KDE 4 version. Thank you for your report.
