Description Ari Steinberg 2005-02-07 20:41:48 UTC
Version: 1.7.2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-6)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.27

Sorry, not sure exactly where best to file this, could go under any number of different products (kmail, korganizer, kontact, etc.).

I think it would be amazingly helpful to automatically detect dates in incoming emails and turn them into "links" to create an appointment in korganizer. Basically, any time you see something of the form "February 7, 2005" or "feb 7" or "7 feb" or "2/7/05" or "7/2/05" (maybe use the locale to guess if you're doing european-style or american-style ordering) turn it into a link (underline it/put it in blue) and then when I click on it a new appointment dialog should pop-up with the date already filled in. Even better, if you see any times in the message try to fill in the time of the appointment as well, maybe fill in the name of the appointment with the subject of the email, and the location if you see a "where: ______" in the email message.

Finally it would be cool if the email message could get sort of attached to the appointment, so that when you look at the appointment in korganizer there is some sort of link that you can click to jump back to look at the email.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
