Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Seems to me since holding shift while hitting the Del key on the keyboard bypasses the trash, holding shift while clicking the trashcan in the toolbar should do the same thing.
If anyone wants to implement this: kdelibs-3.4 has a new signal in KAction, void activated( KAction::ActivationReason reason, Qt::ButtonState state ); which allows to check "state" for & ShiftButton. New feature, so for after kdepim-3.4, anyway (which also solves the kdelibs-dependency issue).
