Cannot reproduce this with CVS HEAD. Can you?

Which sink were you using, btw?

I have just the same bug, using gstreamer 0.8.10 with alsasink in amaroK 1.2.4 on KDE 3.4.0.

When I stop or pause it, CPU usage is about 25% on AMD 1,67 GHz.

More strangely, if I go to engine settings and change ANY parameter, e.g. fade-in or enter a space in "parameters", press OK, then it works fine! No high CPU usage, BUT! IT seems like the equalizer is being turned off! Though the equalizer window shos it is turned on, it sounds like it is off. After the restart of amaroK equalizing works again, but again, it takes 25% of CPU in stop/pause mode. If I turn the equalizer off manually and then on, then it again works but again, high CPU usage.

I don't know how these are related... Maybe it's the gstreamer bug?
I see several more people are complaining about this, too - bug #97604

And oh, I've just noticed! If I turn the equalizer off while amaroK is paused/stopped, CPU usage reduces to normal level!

Please investigate this - something wrong with the equalizer I guess.

i am also experiencing significant CPU usage with amarok when pasued.

i suggest somebody re-open this item and check it out.

i'll provide the information my system gave me by default when adding the bug through the amarok help system, if i can be of any further help, just let me know.

Currently I have all updates for my (Suse) sytem installed as per Suse 'YOU'

d

info specific to my system:

Problem / Symptom:

When playing audio with amarok while it is in the 'kde taskbar' if I pause the current sound track, either through the keyboard (xkb media play/pause button) or from the amarok menu, the cpu usage goes from ca. 4.3% for amarok to 99.9% for amarok in a matter of seconds ( <5 seconds always, mostly around 3 secs, according to 'top')
