Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux Considering how polished the UI of KDE is, I'm surprised that an app such as knewsticker is unable to have a transparent background. Eye-candy? Yes. But still...kinda sucks that it doesn't offer transparency, for something that's supposed to be a seamless module.
i cannot agree more! (using kde 3.4.0)

It is indeed weird that KNewsTicker does not support using transparent background in the applet. Twenty votes for this feature.
I am using KNewsTicker on a stand-alone panel, ticking news on the top of my screen. The ticker panel would look much better with a little transparency, and it would not feel so space intensive.
