Version: 1.7.1 (using KDE KDE 3.3.90) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux the tree of mailfolders is growing and it is not possible anymore to have a fast overview over unread/new messages. It would be nice to be able to hide all folders without new/unread mails more or less similar to "hide offline users" in instant messangers.
I would implement this myself, because I really would like to have this. But I need some pointers where to look in the code (it's hell a lot!) and as this is the first time of KDE/qt programming: some quick howto's wouldn't hurt.
http://developer.kde.org/documentation is your friend then. Also, there's a KMail dedicated list for posting eventual questions. Good luck!
I put this into the queue long enough, but now I started with some work. The idea is to create a search bar similar to the one for the message list. My question would be, does it makes sense to integrate this in current kmail (1.9.4) or is it better to use something for KDE4 (or lets say wait another couple of weeks until there is a usable beta) BTW, thanks for the luck
KMail 1.9.x is a dead horse. So you'd better concentrate on KDE 4 although it's more like a couple of quarter than a couple of weeks until there will be anything which could be called "not too unstable".

Hmm... believe there is a duplicate of this somewhere, but cannot find it.
