Version: 1.0-beta8 (using KDE 3.3.2, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 20040623 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.4-r1, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.10-rc2 For some feeds, like those reporting on forums, it is very handy to have the author of an article available, while for others other it may not be relevant. Would it be possible to add more columns to the list view, that can be configured on a per-feed basis?

Take a look at my comment in #105956

Sorry, I don't get the point. Is author tag already supported in akgregator or not? I'm using KDE 3.4.1 but I don't see who the message came from. It is especially needed when subscribed to some forum RSS feed.
Is someone working on it? Will akgregator ever display arcticle's author? I mean RSS <author> tag.
Actually librss seems to parse author/managingEditor data, but it isn't used anywhere atm. And I don't think that anyone is working on this... And maybe Akregator will someday display article's author too, when someone wants to implement it :)
I just find it useful, like I was used to it from Opera. When I got feeds from a forum, I saw immediately who the message came from, but now I have to read the message and go to the forum to see it. I don't think it would be so hard to implement when you already have it in librss. You could make it visible only if author data are present in the feed. That would make my life a bit simpler ;-)
Another column I would like to place in the list is the feeds favicon as the leftmost column: This would make it easier to me identifying the news source feed when listing "all feeds" than the textual representation of the rightmost column.
Any progress?
More metadata will be available with our new parser backend, but not before KDE4. We can't do much about it in the 3.5.x series, as it would require GUI changes (new strings), which is not allowed in the 3.5 branch.

Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists. If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved.
Just checked this in Akregator version 5.15.3 - while there's an "Author" column in the article list that can be enabled or disabled, the list of visible columns is still not configurable on a per-feed basis (what this issue is about). So I'd suggest that this issue is still open and unresolved - I updated the version field of this issue accordingly.
