Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources I will describe my specific use case: I have a mobile phone with a built in digital camera and bluetooth support, and a bluetooth dongle for my PC. Using kbluetooth I can browse the files on the camera and copy them across to my PC using konqueror, however, I cannot use digicam to download them conveniently as it does not support loading photos from a kio source. There seems little reason to add specific bluetooth support when adding an option for arbitrary kioslaves would allow lots of other image sources, including for example webcams over http. Possible workarounds: a) Simply copy files manually b) Use fuse to mount any kio directories as if they were physical
have you tried these: a) select album. File -> Import -> Add Images -> specified the url to the kio path in the location bar (for eg: sftp:/user@remotehost.com/) b) opening the kioslave path (eg: ftp:/user@remotehost.com/) in konqueror and dragging and dropping the images into digikam.
These are both possible solutions, however neither is as convenient as the two click download photos approach offered for other cameras. Considering getting photos from a camera is a primary use for digikam it would be nice to have it a simple operation. I am not reopening, as I have found a satisfactory workaround in a kfmclient shortcut.
digKam KIO slaves have been removed since 5.0.0 and replaced by a multi-threaded interface.
