Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux When editing text from a textarea(selecting with mouse and put backspace for exemple), textarea freeze for 5 to 8 seconds. It works with current textarea from bugs.kde.org.
Spellchecking enabled?
Yes! But it's the same thing when it is disabled.
Here a video, for the two first exemple, i push backspace juste after having selected text => freeze. But, if i select text, cut it, paste it, then, textarea works with no problems... :/ If l3lx202 is down, please send me a mail, i will try to put this video on another server. http://l3lx202.univ-lille3.fr/~bellegarde/textarea.mpg => mplayer can't play it...
Hmm, seems a problem with configuration. With a new user, no problems. But if i configure my desktop, then, problem appear, going to search why...
Bug step by step: Create a new account. login kde, skip kpersonalizer. launch konqueror with http://linuxfr.org/submit.html Go to konqueror configuration dialog-> fonts, and select "Bitstream Vera Sans" everywhere. Write some text in linuxfr textarea, select it with mouse, put backspace => freeze!
So, it seems to be a debian bug :( It seems to be fixed in current kde 3.3.2 debian packages... But, with kde 3.4 cvs, bug is always here, create a new user, login, no problem. Logout & login and now konqueror textarea freeze :( mcc3@alu.um.es, you have voted for this bug, are you using debian? Is it fixed now? (try to remove your ~/.kde, it works for me )
Closing bug, problem come from klipper...
great! and where do I have to punch klipper to stop annoying me?
Tell klipper to stop saving clipboard content at logout ;) http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91357
