Description Alejandro Lorenzo 2005-01-07 21:39:16 UTC
Version: 0.9.90 (using KDE 3.3.91 (beta1), compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-5)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.10-ck1

I have set up a MSN transport in my jabber server, so i have access to all my contacts in the MSN network.

When a contact of mine in the MSN side invites another user to join our chat (then it creates a "room" with 3 people) the server sends a invitation to the jabber client to join to a conference room, to support in this way the simultaneous chart with more than a user.

However, kopete fails to see the invitation command, and shows the text of the invitation as normal text from the contact who invited another user to the chat.

It's a bit hard to explain, but, i own a jabber server, and i would gladly give accounts to developers to show the problem.

My jid is ballfire@ballfire.ath.cx

Kopete support MSN natively, this should work better than the Jabber transport.

Yes, it should work better, but still the program doesn't work as it should

Sidenote: using a Jabber MSN transport instead of using the MSN plugin of Kopete is a good way of supporting Jabber as it will makes the Jabber plugin in Kopete more important for you. As a result, problems and bugs like this one will be catched faster, reported faster, and hopefully fixed faster.

Confirmed with 3.4.2
Comment 6 Michael Scherer 2007-08-13 17:48:21 UTC
Is this different from a regular jabber invitation, can you give the xml produced by the transport ?
Comment 7 Alejandro Lorenzo 2008-01-12 21:01:23 UTC
Sorry for the lateness. I've been away from kde bug hunting for a while.

Is this still present in KDE4 ? I have installed debian's packages and can set a test if it is necessary. :)

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
