Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Like in Speedcommander (for windows) there should be a horizontal panel below the two directory views that displays as much bookmarks from the root folder (in the original order; possibly with shortened names/descriptions) as possible in columns. The purpose is (only) fast access to these folders. Doubleclick on an entry navigates to that folder. It should look like this: ^ I I resizable ----+ I V V -----------------------------------bookmarks-------------------------- /root working_directory ... /usr/local/doc ... ... /usr/local/doc ... ... . . . /usr/local/doc ... ... /etc ... ... ----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are already Bookmarks available, similarly to konqueror. But it would be great if a bookmarks -- toolbar would be available. You could then shift this to any position you like.
To clarify: * the bookmarks should be visible all the time * ... in a toolbar at the bottom * the descriptions should be kept short (the user has to do this) - so that several columns are possible * the columns should be displayed as compact as possible (consider the length of the descriptions of the bookmarks)
And/or Bug 335128.
