Description J 2004-12-16 12:16:04 UTC
Version: 1.2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs
OS:                Linux

I can't play http streams using amarok 1.2. I receive the following messages on the commandline.

QServerSocket: failed to bind or listen to the socket
QObject::connect: No such slot ArtsEngine::newStreamData(char*,int)
QObject::connect:  (sender name:   'unnamed')
QObject::connect:  (receiver name: 'unnamed')

however artsd is running.

/opt/kde3/bin/artsd -F 10 -S 4096 -n -s 54 -m artsmessage -c drkonqi -l 3 -f

Do you happen to use a http proxy, like Squid?
Comment 2 J 2004-12-25 09:54:05 UTC
I've squid running on one of my boxes. For browsing i'm using squid (konqueror settings). However i haven't set environment variables like http_proxy or ftp_proxy.

Is arts capable of directly playing http streams? The commandline utility artsplay seems only to work with files (i tried a stream url and nothing happens).

Does amarok always delegete playing the specified files/urls to the choosed engine?
