At first kicker crushed but he is restarted. 3 minutes later kicker crushed and i dont have downpanel with tray. Kicker is out. I had to do Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to restart X and KDE. 1 minute and i have second crash (below is backtrace) when i click in KMail get & send mail button and click in close box to slim down KMail to tray. I have made a copy of my kickerrc file and have done like you writed. When i remove the sections one by one, each time saving the kickerrc file and restarting the kicker, my kickerrc file is backing up to my kickerrc file. Anyway, i have done it. There is no any crash. I repeated this, but i change kickerrc file before im logged into the KDE. The file wasn't change and kicker is running without applet that i was remove. Additional, i have restarted kicker from konsole with your command. There is no any crash.
at what point did it stop crashing? when you removed Applet_2, Applet_3 or Applet_4?
It is'nt crashing when i do `dcop kicker kicker restart` with all Applets and if i remove applets one by one and restart kicker (i mean, there is no crash right after i did restart). Crashing is random (one day, there are 2 crashes, other, there is no any crash and other i have 3). I think it is dependent to some events that applets are doing, but i can't tell you what is that events are.
ok. so it's one of the applets. that's the important thing to note. that limits the code from thousands to just hundreds of lines that could be problem! whew! if you install 3.3.2 perhaps you could let me know if that fixes things, otherwise we'll have to wait for 3.4 to see how things fare.
I watched some thing. I removed all Applets and added it again. Im working 2 days and kicker wasn't crashed. Im trying to crashed kicker with opening and closing apps which using system tray and it wasn't crashed. if kicker crashes when you click on a systray icon, then it's either the systray applet or something in QXembed (which, ironically, is in kdelibs =) has gone wrong. when you click on the KMail icon, does it always crash, or only sometimes crash? did KMail also crash, or is it fine? also, while i appreciate you pasting the backtraces here, they don't contain any useful information since your binary build was compiled without debug symbols.
It isn't crash always when i click on the KMail icon. It is crashing sometimes. KMail is fine after i click on KMail icon in tray and kickcer is crashed. But it isn't crash only with clicking on KMail icon (with/without new mail - then icon is changed) - sometimes when i click on the KLaptop icon, sometimes when i click on KOrganizer icon, never when i click on KMix icon and sometimes when i do something in other application and do not touch systray. OK, i stop to paste the backtraces here. I use KDE installed from Slackware packages and it isn't comiled with debug symbols. Now I have KDE 3.3.2 installed. This problem makes me nervous because: 1. Sometimes kicker is crashed and didn't restart (i have to do it with: alt+f2 and type kicker). 2. Some apps that have icon in tray, after kicker is crashed and restarted, lose icon. Applications are running!
