Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: gcc 3.2.3 OS: Linux We should be able to view the body of a message before the attachments have finished loading, and also to reply to (i.e, quote) the message. That'd be useful when you have slow internet and big attachments, currently you have to wait for those to download even if you don't need them. Maybe also (less important for me) have an option to download the attachments only when they're clicked, instead of when displaying the message (like pine does)
One half of this has already been fixed (as of KDE 3.5.6, Kmail 1.9.6, in Kubuntu Feisty 7.04). I just made some experiments, and: 1. A message body is now displayed without needing to download the attachments (good). 2. However, when replying to a message, its attachments are downloaded before the compose window appears (there is that progress dialog indicating "please wait until the message has finished downloading") (not good).
