Description jamundso 2004-11-27 04:46:36 UTC
Version: 1.7.1 (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
OS: Linux

I have filters on our IMAP server which deliver directly to maildir's, including Trash. I do not want Kmail to detect this, but it does even though checkmail=false. I even set IgnoreNewMail=true which still had no effect. The behaviour of other folders seems normal - those that have checkmail=true do so.

I should also add, more specifically, that folders which have checkmail=false (other than Trash) do *not* detect that new mail is delivered to them, as expected. It is just Trash that behaves this way.

I've now found that the notification of new messages in Trash is only occuring upon Deletion of a message. Searching gives me http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38704

What notification do you mean? The configured notification or the count of the
foldertree?

I can still confirm this bug on trunk r860752. Setting checkmail=false for folders other than the Trash works. For the trash the setting seems to be ignored.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
