Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux Two separate but possibly related issues. 1. I have a menu item that I cannot remove (it is not in a subitem). I delete the item using kmenuedit and save the changes but the item is still there. If I lanuch kmenuedit again, it is back. Clicking the menu item does nothing. 2. I have items that show up on K menu multiple times. They are under kmenuedit only once. The items are contained in a subitem. All of the menu items launch their assigned programs.
Please attach your ~/.config/menus/applications-kmenuedit.menu to this bugreport
Created attachment 8952 [details] applications-kmenuedit.menu I accidentally inserted a separator and that resolved the problem of duplicate menu items. I still have the Kaffeine link at the base level of the menu that does not work but cannot be removed.
same problems unter kde 3.3 and Kaffeine sign -> duplicated, one doesn`t work and can not be removed
Same problem with this shit kaffeine icon under suse 10 kde 3.4
I use KDE 3.5.1. in Kubuntu. I have this problem with the kaffeine icon as well. Klicking does nothing, and it will not vanish, even when deleted. It does not show, when starting "sudo kmenuedit".
I can confirm problem No. 2 - Moving or renaming certain items (not only Kaffeine) causes the duplication of random other items in the K-Menu, even though they only appear once in kmenuedit. I have observed this bug since Suse 9.1. Once some random items are duplicated, the only way to remove the duplicates is to delete ~/.config/menus/* and thereby undo any modifications.

Any of you can check if this is still valid in KDE 4.4? Thanks in advance!
Old bug and can't reproduce neither of the mentioned problems using KDE SC 4.9
