Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs
OS:                Linux

When I use a filter, e.g. unread, this setting is saved when I quit kontact. However if I end the session having kontact open the filter setting is not saved.

Works for me in KDE 4.2.2
