Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1) Installed from: RedHat RPMs OS: Linux KMail has an option to periodically check mail. This is useful, but not very useful for laptop users. Sometimes we have net connections, and sometimes we don't. Sometimes we want to periodically check mail, and sometimes we don't. It's far too cumbersome to change the settings for all your accounts all the time, so I suggest having a small, unobtrusive icon at the bottom of the KMail window that allows you to turn periodic mail checking on or off. KMail should remember its status across terminations/restarts. Maybe this is an example of feature-bloat, but on the other hand if the setting is unobtrusive enough (like the kwallet and SSL icons in the bottom right of Konqueror), it shouldn't cause a problem.
this would be offline mode, wouldn't it? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 7765 ***
This isn't offline mode - it's a very small subset: _one_ of the features that would be part of offline mode. Offline mode includes far, far more. If offline mode is planned and coming soon, then this should be remain closed as a duplicate - but if it's not, can we re-open this as a valid request?
