Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1) Installed from: Compiled From Sources When I choose the grouped message view for a certain folder, KMail will add a tree structure to the "subject" column in the message overview. This is fine if the subject column is the first one, as it is by default, but if the user has changed the layout so that it isn't, this looks awkward, if not confusing. IMHO KMail should make sure that the column that shows this tree structure is the first one in the message overview.
We can not change this behaviour at this moment. Maybe KDE4 will make this possible, sorry for that.
This could (should) also solve another problem: if mail-conversations are lengthy, the tree structure takes the place of the subject field, i.e. makes it unreadable.
The problem is still there in KDE 4.3.2
