Version: 3.3 (using KDE 3.3.0, SuSE) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (pre 3.3.5 20040809) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-24.3-default I'm not sure if it applies to all countries, but in some there is to each day assigned a (first) name and persons with that name celebrate that day as their "name day". The extension could be very simple: it should be enough if there's a possibility to enter some pseudo-holidays to the holidays_XX files, which will be just displayed, but won't be handled as holidays. There's already an example in the CVS: look at holiday_pt, there are the names commented out. I can supply the names for _cz.
This should be done with plugin.

Planned for KHolidays in SC 4.6 is holiday categories to tag holidays with, which will include Name Days.
In 4.14 support has been added for categories in KHolidays. One such category is "nameday". We also already have support for splitting files by category, and for a global file using a country of "xx", so all the technical parts are in place for this. In fact, we already have the first file "holiday_gr_el_nameDay" with all the Greek name days. See http://community.kde.org/KDE_PIM/KHolidays/File_Format for more details on how to write a file. If you create any files, please attach them to a new bug report to be merged.
