Description tc 2004-11-07 17:21:38 UTC
Version: 0.7-beta1 (using KDE 3.3.1, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.2 20041025 (Gentoo Linux 3.4.2-r3, ssp-3.4.1-1, pie-8.7.6.5)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.9-gentoo-r1

When i try to download .avi files from my cammera it allways fails with the message "Failed to download MVI_2496.AVI.". Downloading pictures is no problem, it has allways worked flawlessly.

The cammera im using is a Cannon IXUS II and i use the Cannon IXUS II (normal mode) configureation.

How i reproduce it:
1. In the main menu: Cammera->Cannon IXUS II (normal mode)
(The thumbnail for the movie file appears normally just like a picture would)
2. Download->Download All
3. Select album and press ok

After that "Failed to download MVI_2496.AVI." appears, the file is not downloaded and the cammera continues to blink like it's still working on sending the movie for a while.
Comment 1 Renchi Raju 2004-11-07 18:01:20 UTC
can you verify if you are able to download the file using command line gphoto2 or gtkam
Comment 2 tc 2004-11-07 18:59:25 UTC
I tried to download the movie through gphoto2 and while playing around it stoped working, now i can't even connect to the cammera anymore. If digikam uses gphoto2 to download from the cammera, i think the problem might lie there.

Here is the output of gphoto2 i got when trying to download a movie:

gphoto2/libusb error. please contact gphoto mailing lists (www.gphoto.org) to resolve this problem
Comment 5 John Schmitt 2004-12-08 08:10:16 UTC
Everything I've tied with digikam seems to work, except for downloading AVI files. I get a message about "Failed to download xxxx.AVI". My camera is a Canon A70, fwiw. I don't think this bug should be closed until a new version of digikam is available via yum.
Comment 6 Renchi Raju 2004-12-08 08:12:58 UTC
have your verified if you are able to download the avis using gphoto2 or gtkam?
