Version: 3.3 (using KDE KDE 3.3.0) Installed from: Unspecified Linux Compiler: GCC 3.4.2 OS: Linux Executive summary: Could I not use Korganiser like a diary? 1. I would like to type in multiple lines of information throughout the day. 2. Would like to update the previously typed in information multiple times. 3. Could Korganiser save whatever I type automatically? More importantly, if it is not going to save what I type, at the very least, I would like it to warn me that I may have a data loss. (Sometimes some important thoughts do not occur more than once to me :). I have already lost few important things I have typed in Korganiser, because I assumed all was well, since it did not give me an error message when I pressed the "save" button. 4. Would like to see these features preferably under "Journal" section.
BTW, I appreciate your work and help. Thank you.
Hi Srihari, Thanks for the bug report. To me it sound as if all you want is actually provided in the Journal view. Ad 1) and 2) You CAN have multiple lines in the journal view, and you can change each journal any time you want. Ad 3) KOrganizer is supposed to save what you type in (actually, the changes are applied after you leave the input field). If it doesn't work like that for you, can you please describe in detail how to reproduce the problem? Ad 4) What you describe IS exactly the journal view of korganizer... Cheers, Reinhold
Thanks for your response Reinhold. Sorry I was busy for a time and I could not follow it up. I am afraid the Journal view by default does not save my work: when I have added some information, then I exit the program (by clicking on the upper right most "Close" button), it does not save my work automatically, neither does it prompt me to save my work (like say Open Office for example, when you open a document [new or existing], modify it, then when you try to exit, it prompts you to save). And also the "save" button does not help either. But I find "File -- Save" does save my work. Or "File -- Quit" saves my work to. I am using FC3 - KDE 3.3.1. I think I understand the problem: Korganiser does not save my work when I click on upper right most "Close" button or just click on "Save" button (the button looking like a Floppy). Thank you. Hari.
Ah, okay, that's a known bug. So I'm closing this report as a duplicate of the other one. Cheers, Reinhold *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 73017 ***
