Description Martin Gebhartl 2004-10-31 16:38:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

If a Gallery is created containing a large amount of pictures, it would be nice, if the thumbnails would be shown on more pages, not only one. For example the first 32 pictures of 96 on index1.html the second 32 pictures on index2.html and so on.

It is possible to do this in the current kipi-plugins by creating an appropriate xslt theme. I've created a theme for the HTMLExport plugin (kipiplugins version 1.4.0+) which allows you to limit the number of thumbnails per page. It's called Elegant and you can get it from kde-look.org at:

Perhaps you will find this useful.

The current version of the HTML gallery tool does make it possible for a theme to offer the user the option to specify the number of thumbnails per index page.

Whether or not this possibility is exploited depends upon the specific gallery theme, and no core change to digiKam could automatically alter this behaviour in a theme which does not support this.

But there are already themes which do allow the user to specify the number of thumbnails per index page, such as the "Elegant" "Simple Rounded", and "Vanilla" themes which already come with digiKam 6.4.0, and also the new "HTML5 Responsive" theme which will be included in digiKam 7.0.0 and can in the meantime be downloaded from here:

  https://gitlab.com/Bobulous/digikam-html5-gallery-theme

Given that this request is theme-specific and not something which can be fixed in digiKam core, can this request now be marked as resolved?

Marking as resolved, as this has been fixed for some time, and I realise that the original reporter is no longer in the CC list for this bug.
