Version: 1.7.1 (using KDE 3.3.1, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 20040412 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3-r6, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-gentoo-r4 I frequently receive links to SAMBA shares in an email message. It would be great if KMail recognised these links as SAMBA links and automatically converted them into a UNIX format when I clicked on them. Currently I must edit the link in the browser window, reverse all the slashes and prepend smb: This can be time consuming and tedious.
actually in KDE CVS if you type such a link in konqueror, it will work. So I guess as long as kmail is displaying the link as link, it will work.
Well in KDE 3.3.1 KMail does not interpret these sort of links as links. Could you check that a link like , \\machine\dir1\dir2 is interpreted properly in KDE CVS?
No, kmail doesn't highlight the link. but if you paste it into konqueror, you get "Connection to host smb://machine/dir1/dir2 is broken."
Great! I look forward to this working its way into a release
