Version: 1.7 (using KDE KDE 3.3.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Compiler: gcc 3.3.3 OS: Linux I've configured Kontact(kmail) to fetch my mails on my ISP's POP3 server, but by "leaving fetched messages on server". Mail check interval is configured at 1 minute. After being connected for a while ( eg 2 hours) Kmail suddenly retrieves formerly received mails that was still left on POP3 server ! So I get fed up with two coppies of the same mails. Strangely this fenomenon doesn't happen every day ( even when connected for over 5 hours and regularly getting new mail) rgrds, Phil :using KDE3.3.0_15
FYI, you can use Folder -> Remove Duplicate Messages to get rid of the duplicates. Of course, this is no real solution, but in case you don't know...
Thx, at this moment I do a Search for all UNREAD mail and delete them ....
Can you please try whether using a longer interval (e.g. 3 minutes) helps?
Created attachment 8073 [details] Screenshot screenshot of double entries in Kontact
about 3 weeks ago I upgrade to KDE 3.3.1 and until today I haven't had any problems anymore. So, for the last 3 weeks Kmail has practically been checking every minute a pop3 account for new mail, and only now I suddenly got dubbel entries again ? Anyway, I'll the interval ont 3 minutes now ... rgrds, Phil
So yesterday I got the same fenomenon ( with interval on 3 sec) All my previously downloaded older mails, which still resided on the POP3 server, where suddenly fetched again ... rgrds, Phil
Sounds like a time syncing issue. Probably you had a ntp-daemon in the background which adjusted your clock by one minute - resulting in the duplicates.
