Description Thorsten Weidlich 2004-10-01 12:57:56 UTC
Version: kdepim3-organizer-3.3.0-29 (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: gcc-3.3.3-41
OS: Linux

On work i often get invitations per mails for meetings. So i drop the incoming mail (kmail) to the calendar-icon in kontact and a new appointmentdialog appears. I make my time adjustment and save the dialog. After that the mail is sorted in subfolders of kmail.

When i check my meetings and open an appointment, in earlier versions of korganizer you could find the relevant e-mail by clicking on the link in the appendices. Now that doesn't work any more.

Hi Thorsten,
Thanks for the bug report. Indeed it seems that kmail changes the uid of a mail message when the message is moved to a different folder. Or at least it doesn't find the message with the old id (korganizer just stores the uid of the mail, and tells kmail to display the message with that uid. If you move the mail message, kmail doesn't seem to find the message any more).

I'm assigning this to the kmail people, because korganizer behaves correctly, only kmail can't find it's own messages any more.

Cheers,
Reinhold

Hi Reinhold,

thanks for the reply. Should i mark the bug as resolved, or should i let it open?

Thanks
Thorsten

Hi Thorsten,
It IS a bug, but I don't think in korganizer. I assigned it to the kmail developers, so they can figure out a solution...

Reinhold

I have tested it with KDE 3.5.5, and it works for me. Could you please check if this is still a problem? If not, please close this bug.

Similar bug is reported in #137158
Comment 6 Jaime Torres 2008-09-10 18:50:13 UTC
kmail does not change the mail id in 1.10.1 when moving or copying a mail to another folder.
Comment 7 Michael Leupold 2008-11-07 13:08:28 UTC
I can confirm this works in 1.10.1 as well.
