Description geiseri 2004-09-26 17:35:42 UTC
Version: 3.3 (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
Compiler: gcc 3.4
OS: Linux

it seems on an upgrade from 3.2 to 3.3 dimap will remove any messages from the server that have been received between the time of the last use of 3.2 and the first use of 3.3

we saw this at a client install on 26 of 30 machines with the debian testing packages. it seems that the 4 that did not see any issues did not get any email over the weekend. we only discovered this after one person noted that email was missing from their KMail that they read over web mail on the weekend. The server logs then confirmed that all email that was received over the weekend was lost when KMail started up and removed all new messages from the server.

after we removed the dimap caches and the configs, reconfigured the KMail, it all works normally.
