Version: 3.1.0 (using KDE 3.3.89 (CVS >= 20040820), compiled sources) Compiler: gcc version 3.4.1 (Debian 3.4.1-4sarge1) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.9-rc1-mm3 I'll attach sshot to make it easiier to understeand. Basicaly, If I place cursor in the middle of the word. Press ctrl+space, it gives me list of correct words, but it don't take second part of that word (namely, what's after cursor to the first blank) in consideration. Also, pressing enter on choice, leaves this latter part in place. Usually forcing me to remove it prior or afterwards.

word-completion comes from kate
(In reply to comment #0) > pressing enter on choice, leaves this latter part in place. A partial fix would be to just remove any suffix after the cursor. I created a wish for that (bug 300453). How would you like the second half of the word to be considered? By symmetry, since the word has to start with the first half, maybe you want it to end on the second half? Should any or both of the halves need a match? It's not clear to me what you wish for. Maybe that is a reason it hasn't been fixed yet.
Dear user, this wish list item is now closed, as it wasn't touched in the last year and no contributor stepped up to implement it. The Kate/KTextEditor team is small and we can just try to keep up with fixing bugs. Therefore wishes that show no activity for a years or more will be closed from now on to keep at least a bit overview about 'current' wishs of the users. If you want your feature to be implemented, please step up to provide some patch for it. If you think it is really needed, you can reopen your request, but keep in mind, if no new good arguments are made and no people get attracted to help out to implement it, it will expire in a year again. We have a nice website https://kate-editor.org that provides all the information needed to contribute, please make use of it. Patches can be handed in via https://phabricator.kde.org/differential/ Greetings Christoph Cullmann
