Description Nathan Toone 2004-09-07 23:08:49 UTC
Version: 0.9.0 (using KDE 3.3.89 (CVS >= 20040820), compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 20040623 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.4-r1, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-gentoo-r3

It would be really nice to be able to paste an initial message to a kopete contact using the mmb. Pressing mmb on a contact would open a chat with that user and pre-populate the message box with the contents of the clipboard. It wouldn't automatically send, as this could cause a security issue.

It only saves a couple of mousepresses, but it would be a really natural action (from a usability point of view).

You could do the same if the contents of the clipboard were anything else but text, and it could initiate a file transfer.

This would be really useful to send URLs to contacts, or to copy info from a screen to a contact.

Nice idea

This is a great idea, I can't believe I hadn't already tried to do it.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
