Version: 0.9.0 (using KDE KDE 3.3.0) Installed from: Compiled From Sources OS: Linux Wish : I would love to be able to drag & drop ksnapshot images directly to contact list.. Or even better, in the chat window. Thanks !
Kopete already accept the mime type "text/uri-list" and send it as a file to the contact. (on the contactlist, ok, in KDE 3.4, on the chatwindow) KSnapshot maybe could send the "text/uri-list" DragObject, which points to the temporary file the image is stored. I'm reassinging the report to ksnapshot, so the ksnapshot maintainer will be able to reply.
The drag occurs as an image, the user may not have saved it so I can't let them drag it as a URL. Rich.
Could ksnapshot save the image in a temporary file and pass this file to kopete? I don't know very much how it works, but drag&drop from ksnapshot to my Desktop and then to kopete works quite fine... so I think it could be possible. Please, correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!
Then Kopete should probably save it to disk in a temporary file itself. Anyway, i think it could maybe better be done in kdelibs. but the wish is still valid.
What is the mime type of the drag object? It wil be impossibe to manually accept all mime types. Maybe kopete could accept *any* mime type for sending? Only problem would be Winwodws users need a file extention to open the file... Could we save it to disk, and then, attempt to identify it using it's magic?
it's just a QImageDrag. so a simple call to QImageDrag::canDecode would probably suffice.

But what about the next request that asks for a drag of an application/x-rtf chunk from KWord, or an audio/x-mp3 chucnk from an MP3 editor.

Reassigning to kopete guys (not sure why I was still assigned to it).
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
