Description alancio 2004-08-27 16:31:41 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

I use the Zmodem upload/download functionality in konsole all the time, although the dialogs are very primitive.

I'd like to see a progressbar, file transfer speed, estimated time, etc, just as in konqueror's file transfer dialog.

I'd also appreciate being able to select the download destination with kde's standard dialogs instead of a textbox.

Sensible suggestion.

The zmodem code was changed recently. Give the lastest version a try.

I can't believe this bug is still here, I filed it 5 years ago when using KDE 3.3.

Is the change available in KDE3 or KDE4?

I don't care much for KDE4, as I tried it and didn't like it.

All new development happens in KDE 4. The final KDE 3 release was 3.5.10 in August 2008. You did not mention which version of KDE 4 your last used - if it was 4.1 or earlier then it might be worth giving 4.3 a try as the look, feel and polish improved somewhat since then.

With regards to your original report the ZModem functionality in Konsole is still quite primitive, I think the state in KDE 4 is roughly what was there in KDE 3.
