Description J 2004-08-24 13:56:55 UTC
Version: Kmail 1.6.2 (using KDE KDE 3.2.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

A particular mail, with three attachments: a 32.4 MB .txt file 7-bit ancoding, A "freemind mind-map .mm file" 18.4KB plaintext Document type, quoted-printable, and body part 1B, Plain text 7bit encoded. I assume it is the very (stupidly) large 32.4MB file that causes this unhandled internal error. Of course it makes no sense to use smtp for that and the better alternative is to use ftp, but a better error message would be appreciated.

16/04/05 kmail 1.8 SuSE9.2 unsupported update RPM install
Sending (too many? = approx 20Mb as approx 30 jpgs) attachments
kmail reports internal error.
After third attempt kmail exited with SIGABRT

Changed severity to "crash". I hope to have selected only the right bugs (>100) :-)

I tried in KDE 4.3 with a mail with 4 attachments, in sum 65MB.
I got no kmail internal error, just a dialog telling me that the mail server does not accept that large mails.
